Psychotherapy Day Centre

The Psychotherapy Day Centre is for people aged 18 to 65 years who are living with a mental illness or disorder.

This centre is mainly for people who want to:
> Improve their social and relationship skills, regain self-confidence, and return to a regular routine in order to possibly reintegrate into society.
> Receive therapeutic support after a hospital stay to prevent a relapse.

Participants in this programme are supported by a multidisciplinary team of mental health experts.

Intensive treatment that combines individual counselling and group therapy

This programme includes varied therapy groups and individual counselling adapted to each person’s needs. Therapy and counselling is delivered during the day by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists, and social assistants.

Minimum treatment duration: 2 months
Minimum attendance required: 3 days a week
Treatment is covered by the basic health insurance plan (LAMal).


Individual counselling consists of:

  • Regular sessions with the referring therapist
  • Medication assessment and follow-up by the psychiatrist
  • A network-based approach (meetings with external care workers and family members)


The Day Centre runs the following therapy groups:

  • Psychoeducation: Better know your illness to better manage it.
  • Physical activities: Relax and improve your physical health to better manage your stress and emotions.
  • Occupational therapy: Perform manual activities to express your emotions and improve your self-esteem.
  • Cognitive remediation: Train your memory, attention, and organisational skills through special software and games.
  • Workshops to improve relationship skills and manage emotions.
  • Structured and guided support groups where you can talk, share, and find support.
