A major cause of disability in the world

Globally, one out of five people will have a mental health problem in his or her lifetime. Studies have shown that when care is delivered too late or is of insufficient quality, this will increase a person’s risk of developing a serious or chronic illness or multiple illnesses at the same time (comorbidity) and of experiencing social isolation or committing suicide.[1] People must have easy access to specialised care so that they can quickly deal with mental health conditions that could otherwise deteriorate or become chronic.

Ambulatory consultations for adults

The Centre provides different types of consultations:

  • Individual therapy (follow-up, psychiatric care and psychotherapy sessions)
  • Couples therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Group therapy

Better understand your mental health

Throughout your sessions, you will evaluate your mental health through computer-based questionnaires. Your therapist will participate in these assessments at various points in your therapy. Called “monitoring,” this tool lets the Centre maintain the quality of your therapeutic evaluation and care. These assessments also give you a better understanding of your situation, problems, and needs. You can then discuss the results with your therapist.

Data is collected at the beginning of your treatment, after three months, and then every six months. A psychologist is available during the evaluations if you need help.

These sessions are scheduled with the Admissions Service at your first appointment, and then with the therapist on duty for your evaluations.
